Dupioni, the name of which is derived from the Italian word meaning "duplicate", is made from rough silk fibers that are harvested from double silk cocoons, which are then spun side by side. A classic dupioni silk, Bellini Silk has just the right amount of slub in its weft yarns, creating a surface that has both sheen and texture. Its array of thirty shades presents a sophisticated palette, ranging from delicate pale neutrals to rich and saturated reds, plums and blues. Dupioni tends to resist wrinkles more than some other silks, but still takes creases well, making it a great choice for drapery applications.
