An abstract design inspired by Brussels' lace. In traditional laces, threads are pulled from a canvas-bound woven fabric, whereupon the resulting holes are embroidered with buttonhole stitch. The designers zoomed in closer, simplified the ornamentation, divided it into simple, rather flat shapes and finally wrapped it with wool in order to preserve the textile's porous character.
